The theme of this game surrounds the Japanese Samurai warrior Ronin.

Let us review the various game symbols you will see in the Ronin slot game.

The special symbols are the Ronin warrior and the koku, more on these later.

You will also see a castle on the hill, a warrior’s horse, a flag and a helmet. The helmet is the samurai style referred to as a kanuto.

Other symbols are the A, K, Q, J, 10 and .

Payouts for Matching Symbols

From the paytable below are the payouts for matching symbols. Match wins are for like of a kind matches only.

• If you match the castles 5 will pay 2000, 4 for 250, 3 for 50 and 2 for 3.
• Matching the horse 5 for 1000, 4 for 100, 3 for 25 or 2 for 2.
• Helmet or blue flag matches 5 for 500, 4 for 50. 3 for 15 or 2 for 2.
• When matching A or K 5 pay 150, 4 are 25, 3 for 5.
• Q, J matches are 5 for 125, 4 for 20 or 3 for 5.
• 10, 9 matches of 5 100, 4 for 15 or 3 for 5.
• Ronin is the scatter but matching him at 5 will pay 5000, 4 for 1000, 3 for 200 and 2 for 10.

Ronin Scatter Symbol

The Ronin warrior symbol is the scatter. He can land anywhere on the game board and will increase wins.

Not only is it considered a scatter, but a substitute also. The ronin will substitute for all symbols except the koku.

Koku Symbol the

The koku symbol is the Wild substitute. It only appears on reel 3.

Any time you get a koku on a winning payline the win is doubled.

3 Free Games Features

You trigger the free games feature when you land a koku on reel 3 and two or more ronins anywhere on the game board. This triggers one of 3 different features.

The koku will expand to all 3 spots on reel 3, and it is held during the feature spins.

Respin Feature

This feature is from 3 to 10 spins.

Landing two or more ronins again during the respins, will add between 3 to 10 more respins to the total.

Free Games Feature 1

During this free games feature you are awarded 5 free games.

Prizes are multipled by 1 in the first game, by 2 in the second, 3 in the third and so on.

Any re-trigger during this feature, will award 5 additional free games, and the multiplier continues to increase during that time.

This feature can only re-trigger one time.

Free Games Feature 2

If awarded the free game feature 3, you are awarded 25 free games.

During this feature, all prizes are tripled. This feature can also be re-triggered.

Progressive Jackpot

This slot game also comes with a progressive jackpot.

At the time we reviewed the game the progressive was over $3000. We have seen their jackpot climb in to the ten’s of thousands so it just depends when you play it what amount it will be.

This jackpot can pay out at any random time at the completion of any spin. The jackpot is added to any other wins from that spin.

That is not bad and likely why long time RTG casino players keep going back to play it again.

Final Conclusions of the Ronin Slot Review

We enjoy playing this slot in addition to just reviewing it from time to time.

Like a number of the older slot games from RTG, we are disappointed that you can’t play in the browser based or “instant play casinos” variety.

Even with that, RTG casino players might want to consider getting the download client at some point, as it will allow them to access a larger list of games they would not otherwise see.
