WGS Software History
Before we dive deeper into WGS software it might be helpful to have a brief look at their history.
Initially formed in 1998 under the name of Odds On software the software was developed as a downloadable client and also used java as the underlying development platform. They became best known for supplying EH Ventures the software for their online casinos at the time English Harbour, Silver Dollar, Caribbean Gold, and Millionaire Casino. At one point they had also started an almost sudo franchising so operators could also use the software under licensing agreement while paying a percentage for the use of their gaming software.
Rebranding
They were starting to have a bit of success and gaining some traction in certain markets. Then they decided to re brand under the name of Vegas Technology. This rebranding did draw more attention to a degree and was a signal to the industry they would continue to evolve.
Due to legal pressures in some market EH Ventures decided to pull the plug and close their casinos. With this loss of their largest client, Vegas Tech had a severe loss of face.
Another Rebrand and Renewed Spirit
During 2012 the company decided to rebrand bother their corporate identity yet again in hopes it would renew the spirit of the group. It actually worked quite well and they were now known as WGS Technology.
They revamped some of their games with more crisp graphics and continued to work on extending their game offers. They also continued to work on their backend systems, knowing the better they could make it for their licensees the more accepted they would become in the channel.
Later in 2012 they sign an agreement with Deckmedia to launch a New Casino called Miami Club and that would be be a premium brand using WGS software. At the time Deckmedia was already operating a another successful casino Slotocash so they knew how to make it successful and build a player base.
